All over the globe you find folklore traditions that deal with masks of entities that have horns. Some call them 'devils' or whatever. In German they are called 'Krampus' or 'Teufel'.
Three weeks ago there was an exhibition in our village with mostly wooden masks made by the people of some Austrian areas. Some pics of this exhibition you can find at the wilbau-blog.
